Il Festival ha dedicato una mattinata di lavori a “raccontare l’emergenza”

Al secondo giorno di iniziative, il Festival del Volontariato di Lucca ospita una mattinata dedicata a “Raccontare l’emergenza” da diversi punti di vista, con esperti di comunicazione e un focus dedicato al rapporto tra Sistema italiano di protezione civile e media. Numerosi gli interventi di esperti del settore, da Fulvio Scaglione di Famiglia Cristiana a Elio Silva del Sole 24 Ore, da Luca Calzolari della testata ilgiornaledellaprotezionecivile.it, ad Andrea Cardoni di Anpas, alla capo ufficio stampa del Dipartimento della Protezione Civile Francesca Maffini.

Science Conference: Our Common Future Under Climate Change

The International Scientific Conference “Our Common Future under Climate Change” will take place at UNESCO (Paris) in July 2015. This four-day conference will be the largest forum for the scientific community to come together ahead of the 21st UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP21), which will be hosted by France in December 2015 (“Paris Climat 2015”). Building on the results of IPCC 5th Assessment Report (AR5), the Conference will address key issues concerning climate change in the broader context of global change. It will offer an opportunity to discuss solutions for both mitigation and adaptation issues. The Conference will also welcome Side Events organized by different stakeholders.

2015 Dialogue Forums: Climate, poverty, catastrophes – save the world!

2015 will be a year of decisions. Humankind is learning every day, and yet ever bigger and more destructive catastrophes are occurring around the world: Fukushima, Deep Water Horizon, Hurricane Katrina. Social crises in numerous countries bear additional risks. Solutions are not in sight. The energy turnaround is faltering, the gap between rich and poor is widening inexorably. This will be the subject of a lot of renegotiation in 2015 – at global conferences that will show the way forward. At the 2015 Dialogue Forums, Munich Re Foundation wants to discuss the challenges that lie ahead, with you and other notable experts.




You will find the registration dates in the agenda. Advance registrations by e-mail or telephone are not possible. Munich Re Foundation will not keep special allocations for certain groups, so all visitors will have the same opportunity to take part. Because of the strong demand, only registered guests can attend the various evenings.

Third UN World conference on disaster risk reduction (WCDRR)

On 20 December 2013, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution to hold the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction from 14 to 18 March 2015 in Sendai, Japan.  Hosted by the Government of Japan in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), as secretariat of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction, the World Conference will review the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action and is expected to adopt a successor framework for disaster risk reduction.

3rd European Conference on Flood Risk Management

Floods cause distress and damage wherever they happen and flooding from rivers, estuaries and the sea threatens many millions of people in Europe. Insurance losses from flooding have increased significantly since 1990 and flood management in Europe is changing with a move from flood protection and defence to comprehensive flood risk management. FLOODrisk 2016 will explore research advances in flood risk analysis and innovations in flood risk management practice. The conference will consider all aspects of flood risk and will cover the causes of floods, their impacts on people, property and the environment, and portfolios of risk management measures. FLOODrisk 2016 is also supported by the Flood Risk Management Research Consortium.

Measuring Resilience: Participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning

The course focuses on the participatory monitoring, evaluation and learning in resilient communities as the goal of community managed disaster risk reduction. It shall cover skills in facilitating data collection and analysis with the community to enhance their capacity, confidence and control over decisions and processes towards community resilience.

ISA, seminario sui fondi comunitari per il miglioramento della lotta agli incendi boschivi e di interfaccia

Il 18 febbraio 2015 si terrà nell’aula magna dell’Istituto Superiore Antincendi, intitolata all’Ing. Giorgio Mazzini, un incontro organizzato dal Dipartimento dei Vigili del Fuoco, del Soccorso pubblico e della Difesa Civile sull’uso dei fondi europei per il miglioramento della lotta agli incendi boschivi e di interfaccia.
L'incontro, partendo dalla presentazione del sistema di videosorveglianza degli incendi boschivi in Puglia e Calabria, realizzato dal Dipartimento con i fondi europei del Programma Operativo Nazionale, illustrerà alcuni degli aspetti normativi e tecnologici che caratterizzano l’attuale impostazione della lotta agli incendi boschivi e di interfaccia.

Brindisi, concluso il corso di costruzioni, dissesti statici e puntellamenti

Si è svolta dal 19 al 23 gennaio , la 1° edizione dell’anno 2015 del  “corso di costruzioni, dissesti statici e puntellamenti” a cui hanno partecipato 12 Vigili del Fuoco provenienti dalle varie sedi del Comando . Le attività teoriche e pratiche, previste dal programma, hanno visto impegnati i discenti nell’apprendimento e messa in pratica delle tecniche per la realizzazione di puntelli in legno di tipo di ritegno, di sostegno  e di centinatura,  per archi e volte, secondo quanto previsto dal Vademecum Stop, manuale di schede delle opere provvisionali.
Il personale che ha superato  le prove teoriche e pratiche e conseguito l'idoneità, ha raggiunto così gli obiettivi prefissati dal corso  acquisendo le tecniche di costruzione di puntelli in legno, essenziali per la messa in sicurezza di strutture ed edifici danneggiati in caso di sisma o di altri disastri

According to the Emergency Events database EM-DAT, from 2000-2012, around 2.9 billion people were adversely affected by disasters caused by natural hazards (e.g., earthquakes, floods, storms etc.). Another 1.5 billion people are living in countries afflicted with civil strife and violent conflicts, states the World Development Report of 2011. The resultant damage and loss to life and property, including those to cultural heritage, are rising.
