Master in Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (ROSE): The ROSE master degree is jointly awarded by IUSS Pavia and the University of Pavia. During the 18-month MSc programme students will acquire the ability to design, execute and evaluate assessment of seismic hazard for site-specific engineering projects as well as to undertake seismic design of new structures and assessment and strengthening of existing structures.

Training exercises for disaster resilience

With the increasing number and scale of natural and man-made disasters, the building of disaster resilience has become crucial from local to national levels so as to allow communities to be better prepared for uncertainty. Training and exercising are essential for effective disaster management and these may range from traditional table top exercises to the computer aided learning environment and to full scale exercises. Training and exercising are regularly used to develop, maintain and share the knowledge, skills and attitudes for Emergency service personnel and they have been recognised to be an effective vehicle for enhancing disaster resilience. Challenges remain however, in terms of the level of fidelity and in validation and evaluation.

Climate change governance

Changing climate and weather patterns will have severe negative impacts on natural resources and consequently on food production and food security in developing countries. At different governance levels and scales, appropriate responses are needed. But in many countries affected there is insufficient capacity to facilitate the processes that are required. Climate change adaptation and mitigation activities are part of complex change processes. These require the involvement of many stakeholders: local communities, farmers, businesses, scientists, policymakers, extension workers and media. Within the area’s affected there will be a growing need for facilitators that have the capacity to manage these complex changes.


This course is designed to give participants a full understanding of climate change, its impacts and adaptation and mitigation concepts. It also builds their skills to apply tools for stakeholder engagement, policy influencing, advocacy and negotiation. The training approach is interactive and hands-on; it includes practical fieldwork and development of individual action plans.

Caltanissetta, corso CRI “FullD' per medici, infermieri e soccorritori volontari, con crediti ECM

Il primo corso "Full D" della Croce Rossa rivolto a Medici ed Infermieri con rilascio di 11,80 crediti ECM si svolgerà presso il CEFPAS di Caltanissetta il 20 marzo 2015 dalle ore 9.00 a seguire. Il "Progetto Full D" è la nuova offerta formativa che la Croce Rossa Italiana propone in materia di rianimazione cardiopolmonare con l'utilizzo del defibrillatore. Si tratta di un corso intensivo che riunisce la formazione per la rianimazione cardiopolmonare di base con defibrillatore nell'adulto (BLS-D), le manovre di disostruzione pediatrica (MDVAEP), e la rianimazione cardiopolmonare di base con defibrillatore nel bambino e nel lattante (PBLS-D).

Corso per diventare Volontari di Protezione Civile

Giovedì 15 Gennaio 2015 alle ore 21.00 l’Associazione Servizio Operativo di Soccorso (SOS FORLI’–FIR CB ) organizza a Forlì, presso il Centro Unificato Provinciale di Via Cadore 75, un incontro di presentazione del “Corso per diventare Volontari di Protezione Civile”.
Durante la serata si illustreranno il ruolo e i compiti del volontariato all’interno della Protezione Civile Italiana e le modalità per poter contribuire attivamente diventando volontari.  Il percorso formativo successivo comprenderà l’approfondimento di temi come la lotta agli incendi boschivi, il contrasto e la prevenzione del rischio idrogeologico, le comunicazioni radio in emergenza, la ricerca di persone disperse.

Isernia, seminario di Prevenzione Incendi

Mercoledì 10 dicembre si è svolto, presso l'aula didattica del comando provinciale, un seminario sulla Prevenzione Incendi che ha riscosso un notevole successo tra gli oltre 150 "professionisti antincendio" presenti in aula. I lavori sono stati aperti dal Consigliere della Regione Molise, dell'Assessore del Comune di Isernia e dai Presidenti degli Ordini Professionali. Successivamente, il Direttore Regionale VVF del Molise ha illustrato i recenti sviluppi della Prevenzione Incendi prima di lasciare spazio agli interventi dei comandanti provinciali di Isernia e Campobasso, e di alcuni funzionari del Corpo Nazionale. Il seminario è terminato con un dibattito incentrato sugli sviluppi della prevenzione incendi, sull'innovazione digitale e sui rapporti con i SUAP.
