The role of beneficiary communications in building resilience: case study

This document captures the key experiences of the beneficiary communication program run at province and district level by Indonesia Red Cross (PMI) West Sumatra, Indonesia, intended to understand the range of hazards that communities face, as well as their communication patterns, and to identify the sources of vulnerability to disasters in preparation for design of the communication strategy. It includes recommendations for programmatic and institutional change relevant to communication with communities for all Red Cross Red Crescent partners in Indonesia and in the region.
