This book presents a global knowledge base of lessons learned from good practices in multi-hazard early warning systems. It documents seven good practices: (i) the tropical cyclone early warning system of Cuba; (ii) the Bangladesh cyclone preparedness program: a vital component of the nation's multi-hazard early warning system; (iii) the French vigilance system: contributing to the reduction of disaster risk in France; (iv) the warning management of the Deutscher Wetterdienst; (v) multi-hazard early warning system of the United States national weather service; (vi) the Shanghai multi-hazard early warning system: addressing the challenge of disaster risk reduction in an urban megalopolis; and (vii) mult-hazard early warning system in Japan.
